Fitness Tips
- Change your scenery. Workouts getting a little boring? Trade the treadmill for some new terrain and explore a great path in your neighborhood. Tired of running? Go for a long hike or a swim. A new environment can breathe some fresh air into your routine.
- Do it Often Be active on most days of the week.
- Be Strong Add some weight lifting or other resistance exercises to your aerobic activites.
- Buddy Up Working out with a friend will help with a fitness routine. Meet each other in the morning for a walk or take a yoga class together. Your partner should be someone you can count on to puch you and help you meet your goals.
- Dress for Success Before any activity, make sure your body has the right gear. Comfortable shoes, a sports bra, breathable fabrics, active underwear. Look good, feel good, find the Joy4Sports.
- Plan family exercise times go on a bike ride, hike, the park or hit the beach.
- Move It something is always better than nothing; dance around, climb the stairs or take a quick run around the block.
- Skip the gym a change of pace is good. Do hill repeats on your bike. Find a friend and take turns running up and down. Find a set of stairs, do lunges, squats, quick feet and skip a step. Changing your workout can reenergize you and get you excited about exercising again.
- Be a team player join a softall or tennis team and get involved with friends. Bocce is my favorite.
